You may be aware that the Health and Safety Executive are stepping aside from the regulation of first aid training. They are still monitoring first aid in the workplace and state "the HSE will continue to undertake reactive investigation visits where issues emerge or complaints are received."
To be a recognised and qualified First Aider, candidates must be trained by a fully qualified trainer/assessor.
Certificates are issued to individuals after course completion.

Ofqual approved course. All successful students will be issued an FAW certificate lasting for 3 years. This FAW course covers all aspects of basic life support including CPR, bleeding, unconsciousness, choking, head injuries, sprains and strains and a vast range of First Aid conditions that you may experience in the workplace.
This three-day qualification will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.
Once this course has been completed we are also able to offer an annual refresher (Half Day)
When this course is due for renewal we are able to offer a recertification course (2 days) providing the course is completed within one month of expiry.
A First Aid course designed for those who have an interest in outdoor activities. This course covers life threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control, fractures, spinal injuries & more.
Specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation. Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also included, making this qualification very comprehensive. This Level 3 qualification is made up of two units including First Aid Essentials. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.
A 2-hour theoretical course covering Legislation; Equipment and Facilities; Responsibilities; Accident Reporting and Risk Assessment of First Aid Needs.
if you work in a small organisation which doesn't have trained first aiders. The duties of an appointed person must still be met by someone. That person must be a named individual, rather than leaving it to anyone who has some spare time! They are responsible for keeping first aid kits stocked and in date, taking charge in an emergency, maintaining first aid records etc.
Course comprising a minimum of 6 hours of practical and theoretical training covering responsibilities; assessment of the situation; first aid hygiene; resuscitation; anatomy; choking; bleeding; shock; epilepsy; minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty. Compliant with Health & Safety Executive code of Practice.
Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.

This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant Basic Life Support, including parents, guardians and family members.
The FAA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support provides learners with knowledge of CPR, safe use of an AED, Primary Survey, the Recovery Position and choking. This course is suitable for all persons and provides vital life-saving actions to take in an emergency.
This regulated Level 2 Basic Life Support qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge and practical competence to administer first aid until professional medical help arrives. It is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals for the purpose of Continual Professional Development (CPD).
The very practical 1-day course will allow suitably qualified First Aid personnel to use the AED competently and with confidence. Not only does this course deal with the use of the AED, but also revisits some basic First Aid skills, including resuscitation. All students are offered a 3 year qualification, subject to assessment.
